My Favorite Wordpress Plugins
February 26, 2008 Blogging No CommentsEveryone seems to have their own list of favorite plugins for Wordpress, and many of them are undoubtedly completely different from mine, but from my viewpoint of creating content, product and affiliate sites with Wordpress, these are my favorites:
Page Link Manager — It’s great having a page menu… I use pages for the items in the top menu of this site… but what happens when you’ve got pages you DON’T want to show in a menu. Well, there’s a hard way, and there’s Page Link Manager. I think I’d be lost without it.
Related Posts — I cannot describe how much I love this plugin. It helps draw visitors further into your blog if they’re interested in your current post. It even reminds me of posts that I’ve long forgotten about.
BM Custom Login — When you’ve got the perfect Wordpress template for your site, it’s just icing on the cake to have a matching login screen. This plugin makes it insanely easy to do just that, and it adds a huge dose of professionalism to your site.
SimpleForum - I just love the ability to have a forum right inside Wordpress. I don’t use it for every site I build, but it does come in handy for more interactive niches. And it beats the heck out of trying to match your forum template with your blogging template. It’s not the most sophisticated forum on earth, but I’m not the most sophisticated forum manager on earth either, so it suits me perfectly.
You were probably expecting more.
Well, I am a minimalist, but there are others I use happily. Cforms II, Popshops Wordpress Plugin, Now Reading , and of course Akismet, which is a given since it’s already included in your Wordpress download.
But these are my favorites.
What are yours?
